On February 28th the Convention on Modern Liberty gathered to discuss how to react to some of the challenges to rights, freedoms and democracy imposed by the Government – including 42 days detention without charge, the RIPA (Regulation of Investigatory Powers) and ID cards. I went along to the Convention to video some of the breakout sessions:
Morning – Democracy and Liberty – hosted by Imprint Academic and featuring Pam Giddy, Oliver Dowlen, Jean Lambert MEP, Ivo Mosley, Gerard Batten MEP, Neil Jameson – click here to see the video.
Afternoon – Are rights universal? – hosted by BIHR and JUSTICE – and featuring – Ehsan Masood, Jean Candler, Andrew Dismore MP, David Goodhart, Roger Smith, Geraldine Van Bueren – click here to see the video.
In addition I assisted with some of the talking heads videos before the Convention – including Justice Minister Michael Wills
and after the final keynote speech I interviewed some of those attending about their experiences of the day
